Hong Lam started learning piano at the age of eight. In 2007, he received Music Theory Grade 8 certificate. In the same year, he studied Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music at the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) specializing in Composition and Music Production. In 2009, he obtained the Associate Diploma from the Trinity College London (ATCL) Recital in Piano certificate with distinction.

 

From classical music to popular music, Mr. Lam has been teaching students starting from the age of five to adults for over eight years. Besides giving piano lessons, he has participated in various fields of music including piano accompaniments for instrumental examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), ballet examinations of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and for choirs, teaching both individual and group theory classes, piano performing in the Hong Kong Streetathon 2015, playing music as a volunteer for elderly in residential care homes and playing the piano for weddings.

 

Hong Lam is also interested in composing, analyzing and arranging music in leisure time.
